As most wrestling fans must know by now, the Authors of Pain, Akam and Rezar, were cut by the powers that be this week.
The AOP had a good run in NXT and looked destined for big things. Although they were green talents, they had a good look, a lot of pure power, and perhaps most importantly, the leadership of tag team impresario Paul Ellering.

Anyone who knows or has followed me for a while knows that my favorite current wrestler of the last decade is Seth Rollins. I think he’s got the mic skills and in-ring acuity to be literally the top guy in the business. I think he’s only limited by the ability of his opponents-for example, during his most recent title run, he did a lot of work with Baron Corbin, who I think we can all agree, is no Bret Hart. When Seth works with someone at his level like Daniel Bryan or AJ Styles, he can pick up the pace. I’d love to see him against Adam Cole at some point, and of course I’d love to see him against Kenny Omega (which looks less likely these days). Instead, at Summerslam this year, Seth is against this guy:
Rest In Peace, James “Kamala” Harris, 1950-2020. One of the characters that made WWF in my childhood so memorable, Kamala started his career in the late 70’s under the name of “Sugar Bear” Harris. After being given the Kamala gimmick for a run against Jerry Lawler, he worked with everyone from Junkyard Dog to the Great Kabuki to André the Giant. As a matter of fact, it might not be well known but Kamala bodyslammed André in the Superdome well before Hulk Hogan would do it at Wrestlemania 3.
